Our Values

We rely on each LUW staff member to help us achieve our mission through their professional talents, hard work, and commitment to serving our clients. How we achieve that mission is also important. We want an organizational culture that is collaborative, safe, anti-bias, and promotes growth. We expect all team members to embody and model our core values and to ensure that these core values are demonstrated both in our interactions with each other and in our work with those we serve.

    We are open, honest, transparent, and consistent in our dealings with each other, our clients, and our program funders. We apply program rules and agency policies consistently and fairly. We are careful guardians of the resources made available to us, whether from government funds or private donations. We do not hesitate to report issues, errors, or concerns in a timely manner, so that they can be properly addressed for the benefit of all.

    We treat every individual with courtesy, dignity, and respect, believing that with support, every individual has the ability to reach their full potential. We understand that every person, colleague, or client is a unique individual, with their own challenges and strengths.

We are client-focused in everything we do and equitably allocate resources to meet client needs. We listen to our clients, and work with them to provide sustainable solutions. We understand that people often come to us after having experienced great difficulties. We strive to create an environment that supports clients as they move forward in life.
